Syri + Sara | Wedding at Old Pate Chapel and Bottling Co. | Lynchburg, Virginia

August 2, 2019

Joy. If we had to sum up this wedding in just one word, that’s what it would be. Joy. Pure joy.

PJ and I have been a part of a lot of weddings, yet Syri and Sara’s May wedding at Old Pate Chapel is one that we will truly never forget. Never have we ever seen so much joy radiating not just from the bride and groom, but from every guest in attendance. And there is a reason why.

This couple exudes the love of Christ. Sara and Syri were first attracted to each other because of their mutual passion for God and the way that each other loved others so well. This permeates their relationship and has had an impact on so many people. So when they were announced man and wife and introduced as the new Mr. and Mrs., the whole room exploded with cheering and applause for MINUTES. Was it because their friends and family were thrilled that Syri and Sara were now married? Without a doubt. Yet it was so much more than this. It was an applause that testified to the faithfulness of the LORD in both of their lives to bring them to this God-centered marriage that will be used for His glory!

Yet again, joy.

The way Sara’s sisters looked on as she transformed into a bride. Joy. The way Syri and his groomsmen sang worship songs to God while they were getting ready (I had texted PJ to join me for the daddy-daughter first look, and he said, “Wait, there’s a moment I have to capture.” I’m so glad he did). Joy. The way this couple walked back down the aisle just minutes after being pronounced husband and wife. Joy. The way Sara danced with her dad and Syri with his mom. So much joy.

And we will never forget it. Thank you Syri and Sara for trusting us to step in to capture your wedding day when Melissa Batman Photography had an emergency. We wish Melissa could have been there to celebrate with you, and we were honored to have witnessed the beginning of your marriage covenant. We know God will continue to use your marriage mightily for His kingdom! A hearty congratulations!
