Josh + Leanna | Wedding at Heritage Baptist Church | Lynchburg, Virginia

As we prepared to photograph the ceremony, guests poured into the chapel at Heritage Baptist Church in what seemed like a never ending line. PJ and I were struck by the amount of support and love this demonstrated for the soon to be Mr. & Mrs Erb. Prior to the wedding, Leanna had told me that she and Josh wanted their wedding to be Christ-centered and that they were truly in awe of all God had done. The couple’s desire to make Christ known at their ceremony was truly evident, and the packed chapel displayed such a beautiful testament of the impact that these two have made and will continue to make through their marriage!

The wedding day itself brought several surprises both big and small! Josh and Leanna have dreams of traveling to Europe one day, so as a part of the proposal earlier this year, Josh incorporated several English themes to the day. As a tribute to the couple’s dreams, Amy from I Do Events, surprised them with several unique European and English themed details on their table at the reception! We loved seeing the personalities of the bride and groom come through throughout the whole day. Just hours before saying “I do,” Leanna and her closest girls danced down the chapel aisle singing and giggling together! No stress – just a bride ecstatic to be marrying her best friend, even amidst intense summer heat! Yet just moments after the ceremony, dark clouds started rolling in and the wind picked up. I’ll never forget the four of us sprinting around the corner at full speed to attempt to beat the rain. Not twenty seconds into portraits, the monsoon hit, and we raced for an overhang a few yards away. Even the overhang couldn’t fully protect us from the wind and rain, and we desperately tried calling some of the wedding party to come save us, as the doors into the church were locked (all turned out well)!

Josh and Leanna will always have these fun memories to look back on from their wedding day, and we are so thankful to have had the honor of photographing their sweet wedding at Heritage Baptist Church in Lynchburg!
