Ah this session! I don’t think we will ever forget it!
This past Sunday, we had the honor of spending time with Elizabeth and Roland for their Peaks of Otter engagement session. We knew it would be a little windy, but once we got to the higher altitude of the Peaks of Otter, the intensity quadrupled! And oh my, was it WINDY! I don’t think we have ever shot in wind that strong and intense before. Every few minutes we had to stop and brace ourselves because the gusts were THAT strong. It was hard to even move or talk. Yet these two made it look so effortless!
Roland and Elizabeth are such a fun couple. It is incredibly special for me to be their photographer, as Elizabeth was one of my roommates freshman year of college and is such a fun friend! It was after college when Roland came along, so it wasn’t until recently that we got to know him, and we are so thrilled that they are such a perfect match!
Their friends agree too, since they were a fan of the couple before they were a even a thing! Roland and Elizabeth met at a small group, and with a “little” help from some mutual friends (read being sneaky by telling each one separately that the other was interested in the other when they hadn’t expressed it yet), they began their relationship, which of course led to the most romantic surprise Disney proposal!! (Just wait till you see all they have planned for their wedding!)
Roland and Elizabeth, you radiate so much joy, and we absolutely cannot wait for your wedding! Enjoy some of my favorites from this windy winter Peaks of Otter engagement session! There may even be a special peek of one of the wind gusts at the very end!
Check out a clip of the wind here!
